First day of work
November 16, 2020 was special for me, it was the day I started my professional career. I was excited, but also a little scared and worried because I had no experience so far. When I saw the warm welcome that the team prepared for us, the fear quickly disappeared. I was totally surprised by the snacks and food that Ioly prepared for us. Wow, it was really delicious. The welcome decoration was also beautiful.
Familiarization and trial period
When the first euphoria was slowly over, the fear came back because I didn’t know if I was up to this job. Daniella and Mirindra – the two doctors who have been with AiNA soa for several years – helped me a lot during this trial period, so that I had confidence in myself again. Thanks to their advice, I was able to improve my experience and knowledge as a first aid instructor, and I successfully finished the trial period with a first aid training at a college (photo above and below). The atmosphere and the conviviality in the team allowed me to integrate quickly into the whole group.
Working in the field
Our first outreach as a trainer was supposed to take place on May 6 in Toamasina, but the outreach was cancelled due to the corona virus. I was a bit disappointed because this outreach was a real challenge for me. Our leader (Daniella) found some tasks for us to do during the time when the borders to the other regions were closed. We developed training materials for the training, which was a new experience for me.
My competence as an instructor is getting better and better despite the current situation.
In conclusion, I would like to cite a French proverb: “He who starts well, advances well”. Thank you AiNA soa
Kind regards,
Tojo
Ny Ony and I gave a training for students and teachers at the college. Daniella was there, it was a final test for Ny Ony and me and thus the successful end of our trial period.
During the time when the borders to the other regions were closed, we used the time to shoot video recordings with first aid themes. These are shown, for example, in public transport.
